• We are looking for a skilled and motivated Sr Editor in the investment field with strong writing and editing skills, a strong background in finance, economics, or a related field, and passionate about improving investor experience in China. 

• You will work closely with other editorial staff and marketing team in China to publish articles that not only tell a story about what is happening in investing, but also demonstrates the power of Morningstar’s mission on empowering investor success. 

• As an Sr Editor, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing our content strategy to build a substantial following in China. 

• The content you create will be selectively adapted or republished on multiple platforms, including social media and online investment communities spread in China, and Morningstar’s China website, etc. 

• This role is based at the Morningstar office in Shenzhen.

Job Responsibilities

• Edit/Write and publish 3 to 5 articles per week, craft a compelling narrative of Investment Market articles/blogs, major financial/fund-based news events, individual investor education related articles in China

• Proofread/edit articles by other internal and external authors to adjust to Morningstar China’s target audience

• Create a monthly editorial calendar and cooperate across teams internally to find resources such as Morningstar data, Morningstar research reports, Morningstar Analysis Tools, etc.

• Create and manage Morningstar social media accounts and Web pages

• Understanding of social media KPIs, web traffic metrics, and SEO, work with other editorial staff to establish and disseminate editorial KPIs (page views, etc.)

• Coordinate PR from China marketing team to distribute content suitable for financial media and digital channels to enhance the influence and the impact of Morningstar

• Cooperate with the research team and compliance team on a daily basis to review content accuracy and compliance to ensure the quality and compliance of articles/blogs

• Manage content distribution across various channels, including social media, investment communities and website, etc.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economic, or another related field

• Familiarity with basic concepts in finance and economics

• 3-5 years of experience as a content writer or editor 

• Social media literacy

• Passionate about investment, sensitive to hot spots in the investment field, latest market information and data

• Be skilled at planning topics that domestic individual investors are concerned about

• Proven writing skills, including the ability to write a compelling lead, succinct conclusion, and snappy titles/headlines

• Ability to perform in-depth research and keep track of new trends while finding new opportunities to make Morningstar’s voice in the market

• Good at explaining professional investment knowledge and market hotspots in interesting, vivid and easy-to-understand language style

• Ability to write, edit and publish on a frequent basis

• Experience managing content distribution across various channels, including social media, investment communities, and website

• Strong organizational skills to manage workflow, multitask, and meet deadlines and an eye for detail

• Fully embrace Morningstar culture, passionate about improving investor experience in China

• Excellent critical thinking, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Have a strong sense of purpose at work, result-oriented, and good at cross-team cooperation and integration of the internal and external resources
